YOUR FIRST RESPONSE

What if prayer was not the last thing we turned to, but the very first? In this message drawn from James chapter 5, we are challenged to examine our instincts when life gets hard, when life is good, when our bodies fail us, and when we fall short. James closes his letter by walking us through virtually every human condition, and in each one he points us in the same direction: toward God. The central theme is simple but deeply convicting: whatever life brings us, we are meant to bring it to God. Not after we have exhausted every other option, but as the first and most natural response of a maturing faith. This is not a message about prayer as a religious habit. It is a call to reorient our entire instinct so that prayer becomes the front door of our lives rather than the emergency exit.
